What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an alternative and complementary medical practice
that treats patients by the manipulation of certain points in the
body. With the manipulation of these points on your body the acupuncturist
is able to restore your body's natural flowing QI to clear any blockage
and allow your entire body to feel better.
Does Acupuncture work?
Yes. Acupuncture is a natural holistic treatment for many illnesses
but is mostly noted for the assistance in the treatment of pain
and orthopedic problems.
What are the needles like?
Acupuncture needles are very thin and solid and are made from stainless
steel. The point is smooth (not hollow with cutting edges like a
hypodermic needle) and insertion through the skin is not as painful
as injections or blood sampling. The risk of bruising and skin irritation
is less than when using a hollow needle.
Do the needles hurt?
In general acupuncture should not be painful. When the needles
are applied you may feel a dull ache, the sensation of an electricity
or tingling, or hot or cold sensations at the penetration point.
Any discomfort that does not pass immediately needs to be expressed
to your practitioner so the needle may be removed or re-adjusted.
What ailments can Acupuncture help with?
Most people are aware of the fact that Acupuncture can assist with
pain control however there are many other issues that can be treated
with the method of alternative and complementary medicine. Acupuncture
is actually designed to treat any issues in your body and actually
works to balance the energy of your entire body.

has also been proved to be especially effective on back pain, headaches
and even migraines.

blood pressure, relive anxiety, insomnia, allergies, asthma as well
as to stop smoking and lose weight.
How many treatments will I need?
In your first treatment 60 minute treatment you will have an in-depth
discussion with your acupuncturist about your ailments and treatment
process. While some issues may be alleviated in one session it is
recommended that treatment be continued in order to maintain the
new level of blood flow to avoid the issue reoccurring.
